The aim of this project
was to create a matching card game for children using a theme related to animals. It aims to provide a playful, peaceful, and welcoming tone for children and their parents.
Purpose
The purpose of Folk Tails is to provide entertainment for children and their parents using animals and characters from classic nursery rhymes and childhood stories.
The design uses simple illustrations of each animal with the title of the story they are from repeated in a pattern as the background behind them.
Front
Backgrounds use the complimentary color of the color of each animal. Faint words overlay the background with the title of the story that each animal belongs to.
Back
Each animal’s head was outlined to create the circular pattern on the back of each card. The pattern of each head (with the matching background color) is used underneath the repeating title of the game.
